We are now presenting certification training online at the CIT, CSE, and CIS levels.

Workforce Development

As an Authorized IPC Training Center, ACI employs personnel that are Master IPC Trainers and Certified IPC Trainers for all IPC inspection standards.

The IPC-developed training materials are provided for successful CIT candidates so they can perform CIS training and certification for any organization. Training and certification occur at our Philadelphia, PA based headquarters with an option to conduct each course at a client’s location upon request.

Training and certification is available for those who wish to become a Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) for the following courses:

+ IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Certification

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: Five Days

Course Overview

It includes an in-depth study, hands-on application of the National Standard for Soldering, and all the materials necessary for the successful student candidate. + IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Space Addendum Certification

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: Half Day (Four Hours)

Course Overview

Hardware designed and manufactured for space flight applications are required to endure vibration and thermal cyclic environments that may exceed the stresses that terrestrial based hardware experiences. In order to ensure that space flight hardware can endure the harsh environment of space, the IPC has developed an addendum to J-STD-001 to address these additional requirements.

Who Should Attend

Engineers, trainers and technicians that are involved in manufacturing space flight hardware assemblies and currently hold J-STD-001 certification will benefit from this course.

J-STD-001 CIT certification is a prerequisite for J-STD-001 Space Addendum CIT certification.

J-STD-001 CIS certification in the mandatory Module 1 and at least one of the optional Modules 2 through 5 are prerequisites for J-STD-001 Space Addendum (Module 6) CIS certification.

+ IPC 7711/7721 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Rework and Repair Certification

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: Five Days

Course Overview

Participants experience an intense, hands-on printed circuit board rework and repair lab coupled with a review of all the applicable procedures outlined in the IPC 7711/7721B specification. Utilizing the industry’s latest tools, materials and technology, students will perform a variety of IPC 7711 through-hole and surface mount component rework and inspection processes. Additionally, students will demonstrate advanced proficiency in IPC 7721 repair and restoration of damaged printed circuit board assemblies.

Who Should Attend

Candidates include technical trainers, soldering technicians, QA and manufacturing personnel who process and/or instruct on the rework, repair and modification of electronic assemblies. The ideal candidate should possess above average soldering, rework/repair skills and sound reasoning abilities.

This program provides the necessary skills to be able to instruct workers in how to correctly apply the acceptability criteria of IPC/WHMA-A-620. The course also teaches the correct application of the standard, which defines acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured and soldered interconnections and the corresponding lacing/restraining criteria associated with cable and harness assemblies. Students that complete the program by demonstrating the ability to correctly apply the accept/reject criteria in the standard will be issued an IPC Trainer’s Certificate.
