U.S. Army Electronics Sustainment Center

Related Projects

Overview:

The United States Army Electronics Sustainment Center (AESC) was established to act as a focal point for electronics sustainment issues. Through its partnerships with government and industry, the AESC is able to provide strategic solutions for aging electronics and legacy systems within the United States Army. The AESC has been successful in teaming with the government, defense electronics industry and academic partners in identifying sustainment issues, improving weapon system performance, extending the life of fielded weapon systems, and in reducing the total ownership cost of Army systems.

Through the use of reverse engineering and the integration of advance commercially available technology in to military systems, the AESC is having a profound impact in dealing with sustainment issues relating to electronics systems in use by the U.S. Army. Under the management of ACI, the AESC is engaging in obsolescence mitigation issues involving electronics devices currently used by troops in the field, with the goal of maintaining a readily available supply of technologies that aide in communications and combat survivor recovery.
